Pleasantville Sweeps Lenox; Girls Cruise While Boys Work Overtime For Win

The Pleasantville girls got up early and held Lenox to eight second half points for a convincing 47-20 win last night. Pleasantville was led in scoring by Mariah Zoss off the bench who finished with 12 points followed by Liz Hoyt who chipped in with ten. Pleasantville moved to 13-5 overall and 9-4 in the conference. The Pleasantville boys finally got a buzzer beater to go in their favor last night with a thrilling 51-49 victory over Lenox. Hunter Van Haalen had a chance to clinch victory in regulation with a free throw but missed the front end of a one and one that force the game into overtime. Van Haalen got redemption though scoring the final bucket on a nice pass from Jacob Schletzbaum to clinch the victory. Pleasantville improved to nine-and-seven overall and seven-and-five in the Pride of Iowa Conference.
