Both Knoxville and Pella Community school districts have used five snow days so far this winter. In order to make up for these days, Knoxville schools will be in session on Monday January 18th, which was originally scheduled as a day off for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, classes will dismiss at 1pm. In addition, changes will be made to parent-teacher conferences scheduled in February. The district is also looking into the possibility of using extended days to make up additional time. Pella Community Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says their policy is to add extra days to the end of the academic year, meaning the last day of the semester will be the 9th of June but discussion with the calendar committee will take place in the future to consider all options.
