The Red Rock Lake Association, with help from Bass Pro Shops, is hosting the first annual “Red Nose” ice fishing tournament Saturday morning. State Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon says there are several places on Lake Red Rock that are good for ice fishing, including the site of Saturday’s tournament.

“Typically I know that Robert’s Creek is a great place to go down and try it,” says Kenyon. “Also I’ll see a lot of fishermen down by the marina at the other end of the Lake, and farm ponds also offer good possibilities too.”

The ice fishing tournament will include cash payouts for the top three finishers, based on the total weight and number of fish caught; and also includes additional prizes and giveaways. The “Red Nose” ice fishing tournament will run from 8:00 a.m. to noon Saturday at Robert’s Creek, west of Pella.
