East Elementary’s Invent Iowa competition Thursday was a great success. Fourth and fifth grade inventors had to find a problem and develop a solution for the contest. This year’s event brought a variety of different inventions including footwear to protect dogs’ paws, a quick boot dryer made out of items that can be found around the house and a watering can that can be used to water difficult or hard to reach plants. The schools winners will advance to the regional competition in Nevada this spring.
