The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the new football district pairings for the next two seasons. The biggest change locally concerns Pella Christian as they move up to Class 2A and will be in District 8 along with PCM, I-35, Bondurant Farrar, Clarke Oscoela, Colfax Mingo and a couple long distance opponents which include Shenendoah and Clarinda. In Class 3A Pella and Knoxville will go separate ways as Pella will be in District 7 paired with Oskaloosa, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield, Chariton, Centerville and also a couple long distance opponents Keokuk and Fort Madison. Knoxville is in District 8 paired with ADM, Carlisle, Dallas Center Grimes, Newton, Norwalk, Perry and Saydel. Pleasantville will be in Class 1A District 7 paired with Central Decatur, Des Moines Christian, Mount Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Panorama, Wayne and West Central Valley, Stuart and in Eight Man football Twin Cedars and Melcher Dallas will both be paired in District 5 along with Grandview Park Baptist, Harmony, Meskwaki Settlement, Moravia, Seymour and Tri County. Now that the districts have been released, each school will submit a list of five teams they would like to play in their first two non district games to the IHSAA and full schedules for next season will be released sometime in the next two weeks.
