Senator Paul McKinley states that the state of Iowa is in the fiscal trouble it’s in because the governor and majority party has spent too much in recent years, and are continuing that trend. Governor Chet Culver released his proposed budget to the legislature last week which includes a $400 million increase. McKinley says that the state government has to begin concentrating on jobs and that it is essential to maintain the Iowa Right to Work law. He says that Governor Culver has increased spending by one billion dollars in the past three years, and a good place to start balancing the budget is to go back and cut things that have been recently increased.
