In a game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday night, the Pella Christian girls basketball team will host Norwalk Thursday night for the Eagles’ regular-season finale. Pella Christian is coming off of their best offensive output of the season with last Saturday’s 76-38 blowout against Chariton, and Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says he wants the team to continue to focus on what comes from within.

“[We’re focusing on] attitude and believing in themselves, just keep working hard. They’ll play in spurts, but we want to play a full four quarters and just bring it,” said Van Maanen. “I know theses girls can do it. I’ve seen them practice, and I’ve seen them in stretches during games – they can do it. They’ve just got to believe in themselves.”

Pella Christian just edged the Warriors 22-20 in a defensive first encounter at Norwalk and will aim to improve upon that performance on their home court. The contest will be the final tune-up for the Pella Christian girls before the Eagles face PCM to open postseason play.

Coverage of tonight’s Pella Christian girls game can be heard live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall on the call. Tip-off of the Varsity game will be at approximately 7:30 p.m., following the JV game.
