The Pella Christian basketball teams are preparing for their big match-up with cross-town rival Pella High School tomorrow night. Eagles’ boys basketball coach Larry Hessing says the game against the Dutch is just one of a handful of tough contests his team will have as they close out the regular season schedule.

“They’re all really tough games, but especially at Pella, we’ve got Norwalk coming in yet, and then we’ve got to play Des Moines Christian,” said Hessing. “So we’ve really got a good schedule at the end of the year here, and Tuesday night against Pella’s going to be no exception.”

Pella throttled the Eagles 65-44 on December 18th. The Pella Christian girls also went down in defeat in the first meeting, as the Dutch snared a 55-42 win at Pella Christian. Eagles’ Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says he expects another fun, but difficult, contest.

“It’s going to be a fun atmosphere; it’s going to be a tough atmosphere, we know that, but hopefully our girls will be ready for the challenge,” said Van Maanen.
