A food-packaging event to benefit people in Haiti is being organized to come to Pella later this spring. “Meals from the Heartland”, a non-profit organization that specializes in packaging meals for needy countries, is sponsoring the event. Central College’s Jim Zaffiro, who is helping with the organization of the event, tells KNIA/KRLS News the drive will be held on Saturday, April 17th at the Vermeer Global Pavillion in Pella. He says they expect more information to be available soon, including how people can sign up to volunteer or donate to the effort.
