The Knoxville girls may not win the Class 3A State Title, but the Panthers can claim number one in crowd support. According to the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union, Knoxville ranked as the top school in crowd support of the eight teams that qualified for the state tournament this week. According to Knoxville Activities Director Randy Wilson the girls union takes game receipts that the schools submit and adds them up for all three of the regional games. Coach Jim Utiermarkt is very thankful for that support. Knoxville fans were at the State Tournament to support their team as the school provided seven pep busses to the game, and according to Wilson an estimated 1800 fans from Knoxville attended Tuesday’s game.
