The Knoxville Girls Basketball Team lost to Waukon in the state tournament last night 61-to-50. Knoxville finished the season 23-2 winning the outright Little Hawkeye Confrerence Championship and getting to its first state tournament since 1975. The Panthers also for the second straight season set the school record for the most wins in a season in the five-on-five era. In related news, the Knoxville Historic Preservation Commission will host a program highlighting the four girls basketball teams from Knoxville High School that have made it in the state tournament in 1945, 51, 75 and now 2010. The event will take place on Thursday March 25th from 6:30-8pm in the Knoxville Public Library.
