Beginning Monday March 22nd the city of Knoxville will be enforcing their downtown parking laws. That’s after a discussion by the Knoxville City Council and Police Chief Dan Losada and last night’s city council meeting. City Manager Dick Schrad said that downtown business owners and residents have expressed that with the opening of two new restaurants on the square, it is harder to find parking on the square lately. After a poll of downtown businesses the council decided that it was important to start issuing tickets for those who leave their vehicle parked on the square for more than 3 hours.
