Following a public hearing, the Pella City Council approved the submitted $16.68 million city budget for the fiscal year 2010-2011 at last week’s meeting. The total budget is a 1.81 percent reduction from the previous year and includes no change in property taxes. Highlight items of the budget include funds for major city infrastructure projects – namely road repair, renovation of the city’s water and wastewater systems, and repairs to Pella’s indoor and outdoor pools.
