More that 1,600 votes were cast in a recent poll on kniakrls.com concerning the race for Iowa’s senate seat in the upcoming election. Democratic candidate Bob Krause won the poll by a significant amount, receiving 62% of the total votes. 35% of votes went to Roxanne Conlin, while Tim Fiegen received the remaining 3%. Krause said that “while this poll is not scientific, it is certainly valid as a show of strength”. He adds that it is clear that his supporters were more highly motivated than those of his opponents and anticipates a similar level of enthusiasm going into the primary election. A new poll is now posted on kniakrls.com in regards to the Republican challengers for the congressional seat currently held by Democrat Leonard Boswell. As of 1pm Monday, Dave Funk, a retired pilot from Runnells, is currently winning with 236 of 608 total votes.
