Discussion of facility and budget issues continued at Monday night’s Knoxville School Board meeting.  At the meeting the three elementary school principals presented their proposal for the future use of elementary facilities in the district.  The principals proposed having kinder prep through 1st grade students at West Elementary, with a 2nd through 5th grade center at Northstar.  The board members agreed that by having grade alike centers at the elementary level teachers would be able to collaborate together more and share teaching resources.  On a lighter note, the board also recognized Jim and Angie Uitermarkt for their hard work and success with this year’s Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  For more on last night’s Knoxville School Board Meeting, tune into today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville during the midday magazine, where I’ll speak with Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack about these and other items on last night’s agenda.
