The Veterans Affairs Task Force held their monthly meeting Tuesday where they were introduced to new Staff Assistant to the Director, Dave Huffman who has replaced Barney Devine who retired after nearly 40 years of service. At the meeting the task force members along with representatives from Senator Tom Harkin and Senator Chuck Grassley’s offices were able to ask Huffman questions about the Department of Veteran’s Affairs future plans to open a Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Knoxville. Huffman stated that the DVA’s preference is to open a CBOC in an existing building and they hope to be able to open the new facility by the end of 2010.
