Pella Historical, with the help of Vermeer Corporation has received a large shipment of wooden shoes from the Netherlands. The shoes were ordered to help stock up for the attempt to set a World Record for Dutch dancers in wooden shoes at the 75th Annual Tulip Time celebration in May.

The shoes began arriving in January and have filled the lobby of the interpretive center with boxes. It is encouraged for those who will be wearing the shoes to be present so they can be fitted, but if that is impossible, a tracing of the dancer’s foot with a heavy sock on will help determine the shoe size.

The shoes go on sale beginning Monday at the Pella Historical and Vermeer Mill Interpretive Center and will be available at a discount rate through March 12th for Pella Historical Society Members and those who register for the dance. Guests are asked to use the south door of the Interpretive Center, which is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
