Both of Pella girls relays will be in action at the Drake Relays today, the 4×100 relay will run at 5:30pm and the 4×400 will run under the lights at 8:10pm. Coach Dak Rasmussen says the 4×100 team consists of two freshman, a sophomore and a senior and they hope to run well and establish themselves as one of the better sprint teams in the state. Rasmussen also says the 4×400 team has been very impressive so far this season and he feels good about their chances to medal. He says they ran a 4:08 to qualify for Drake which is one of the best early season times in that event he can remember for Pella, and he says if nothing else, the school record is 4:04 and they’d love to break that at Drake.

The 4×100 team consists of Lauren Manecke, Morgan Hiemstra, Nadine Van Zomeren and Kati Sunderman while the 4×400 runners are Van Zomeren and Sunderman along with Maddy Davis and Marielle Gaiser. While these girls are competing at Drake, the rest of the team will be in action in a meet at Winterset.
