Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni from Central College fanned out across Pella and the surrounding area to work on various projects as part of the college’s 5th Annual Community Service Day. The volunteers worked on many projects in Pella, including preparing for Tulip Time, removing trash from local parks and helping out with yard work; as well as projects in Des Moines, Newton and Oskaloosa, among other locations.

Additionally, approximately 50 Central College students and staff, along with other volunteers helped clear brush at the Hickory Ridge campground, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture candidate Francis Thicke stopped by to talk. In all, members of the college helped out with an estimated 65 different community projects.
