One Iowan is heading out on a 400 mile kayak ride to gather support for the Hickory Ridge Wilderness Camp project at Lake Red Rock. John Craun of Newton will begin his journey on the Des Moines River, across Iowa from the Minnesota border to the Mississippi River today. Craun is currently receiving about $6 in donations for each of the 400 miles he paddles and Associated Therapy Services Corp. of Knoxville is currently matching donations. Those who would like to donate to Craun’s Paddle Across Iowa to benefit the Hickory Ridge Wilderness Camp can do so visiting www.inhf.org and clicking Paddle Across Iowa on the right hand side.
