April 22nd is Earth day in the U.S. and is designated to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s environment. Knoxville High School students will be doing their part to clean up the earth next week during their bi-annual city clean up day. The students will spend 2-3 hours out and about the city of Knoxville cleaning up trash which Science Teacher Sean Gibbons says is a great service project for the students to take part in and give something back to the community that has given them so much.

In addition, Peace Tree Brewery will be giving away free sycamore sapling trees to customers who come in and purchase a beer or root beer after 4pm Thursday.
