The latest population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show a slight increase in Marion County’s overall population in the past decade. Since the July 2000 census, the county’s population has increased by roughly 600 people – or 1.97 percent – to 32,682. That number, however, is roughly 92 fewer people than lived in the county in 2008.
