The city of Pleasantville has a new Police Chief. Joseph Mrstik assumed the office of Chief Monday. Mrstik is from Mount Vernon, and has a degree in Criminal Justice from Cornell College in Mount Vernon. Mrstik most recently was a police officer with the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids. Prior to his position in Cedar Rapids, he spent three years training Iraqi police officers in Iraq.
