A Pella horse ranch is hosting an open house this weekend to introduce people to the unique service they provide. The Double D Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine-assisted activities for individuals who face physical and emotional challenges. The ranch is hosting the event at no cost to the public, and will have games, a petting zoo, pony rides, shows and other activities available for the all ages event. There will also be food available for purchase.

The KNIA/KRLS Little Big Red Radio will also be there from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. providing entertainment and making announcements. The Double D Ranch is owned by Deanna and Darrell Van Hall, and is located two miles west of Pella in the Hunter’s Ridge development at 781 183rd Place. The open house runs from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
