A meal-packaging event to aid victims of the January earthquakes in Haiti will be held in Pella this weekend. “Pella Meals from the Heartland” is a volunteer effort that is hoping to package 600,000 meals. Workers can be almost any age and will be grouped in teams of 10 to 12 individuals for two hour shifts that will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The Pella Meals from the Heartland food packaging event will take place on Saturday at the Vermeer Global Pavillion.
