An ordinance amending city code pertaining to sign lighting on multi-tenant buildings was defeated by a 3-2 vote in opposition at Tuesday night’s Pella City Council meeting. The proposed ordinance would have regulated a consistent method of sign lighting for structures housing more than one business and was the second ordinance related to signage to have been defeated in the last two weeks.

In other business, the Pella City Council approved resolutions closing streets for Tulip Time and Central College Student Moving Days and passed the first reading on an ordinance amending city zoning code in regards to wind energy conservation systems, among other issues.
