Severe Weather Awareness week continues Thursday, with an emphasis on thunderstorms. In March, the National Weather Service began using an experimental tag on severe thunderstorm warnings and statements that includes maximum hail size and wind speed. The additional information is intended to help emergency management members to better respond to severe weather. When severe weather threatens the residents of Marion County, the KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team provides wall-to-wall coverage of the storm to give listeners the most complete and current weather conditions first, fast and accurately.
