The Pella Historical Society continues to promote the upcoming attempt to break a world record for dancers in wooden shoes at this year’s Tulip Time celebration. Tulip Time Committee Chair Sally De Reus and members of the Duchesses delivered a presentation to the Pella City Council at Tuesday’s meeting, and Mayor Darrell Dobernecker issued a proclamation in honor of the event, which will take place on May 8th. Hopes are to have 1000 dancers line Pella’s downtown square to perform the simple dance. To sign up or learn more, visit www.PellaTulipTime.com [1].
