The Central College baseball team is scheduled to begin Iowa Conference tournament play today, as the third-seeded Dutch will face No. 6 seed Luther College in Cedar Rapids. Central swept Luther in a three-game series in Pella on April 16th and 17th, but the Norse have been hot since then, entering the tournament with a 24-16 overall record, while the Dutch are a program-best 27-12.

The opening pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. from Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. With a win, the Dutch would play again at 4:00 p.m. against No. 2 seed Wartburg. A loss would pit Central against the loser of the Coe and Simpson first-round game on Friday. The double-elimination tournament concludes Saturday with the winner receiving the conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.
