Due to a miscommunication, we reported Wednesday that Pella finished in a three way tie with Grinnell and Oskaloosa for the LHC boys tennis title. Both Pella and Grinnell finished with one conference loss, however with Grinnell’s head to head win over Pella Tuesday, the Tigers are the outright conference champs and Pella finishes second with Oskaloosa finishing third with two conference losses.

In that match at Grinnell Tuesday, Pella dropped five of the six singles matches then bounced back to win four of the five doubles matches but Grinnell won the match 6-5 to claim the outright conference title. Pella coach Joe Burch was pleased with how they fought back in doubles including winning a couple third set tiebreakers. He says although the regular season conference title slipped away, they’ll get another shot at everyone in the conference tournament.
The LHC Tournament will be played at Grinnell on Monday.
