Knoxville resident Michelle Leigh Irving has submitted a written plea of not guilty. An order of continuance from May 7th until May 21st was filled and resulted in Irving pleading not guilty to a 1st degree theft charge, which is equivalent to a class C felony. She has waived her right to a speedy trial and a pretrial conference is scheduled for Friday July 2nd at 9:30am at the Marion County Courthouse, with a trial set to begin the morning of August 3rd. Irving was arrested March 24th and accused embezzling $98,000 from the Marion County Fair Association while serving as the Knoxville Raceway’s Accounting Manager. If found guilty, Irving could face up to 10 years in prison.
