If you order pizza on Wednesday, June 2nd there’s a chance a Knoxville firefighter could deliver your pizza. Local firefighters, along with Marion County Public Health, Pizza Hut, Safe Kids Iowa, and State Farm Insurance are teaming up to remind families about the importance of working smoke alarms. Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts says the goal is for the firefighters to check residents’ smoke detectors, with their permission, and they will also have a limited supply of smoke detectors available for those residents that don’t have them. The firefighters will be delivering pizza from 6 to 8pm Wednesday.
