Lightning from the thunderstorm that caused over 900 customers in Marion County to be without power last week also struck a pole near the Knoxville Police Department and City Hall causing damage. Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news he saw the lightning strike a pole out the window in his office Tuesday morning. The damage includes air conditioning systems and a few computer switches. Chief Losada says this resulted in some minor, temporary interruptions to regular operations in the building and the city continues to work on making necessary repairs.
