A Harvey man convicted of several methamphetamine charges has been sentenced to a maximum of 25 years in prison. Rickey Lee Maples pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine over five grams), with Intent to Deliver and the court has accepted the plea.

As a result Maples must serve a maximum of 25 years at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale, Iowa but will serve less time due to his guilty plea and cooperation with the judicial system. He is also ordered to pay more than $5,000 in fines, reimburse the state for the costs of his court appointed attorney and his drivers license will be revoked for 180 days. Maples is not eligible for bond appeal.

The charges stem from a January 14th drug bust by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, South Central Iowa Drug Task Force, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa State Patrol and the Mid Iowa narcotics Enforcement at 300 Wise Street in Harvey.
