Marion County will receive nearly $10,000 of federal funds for emergency food and shelter programs. The $9,912 award comes from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program and will be distributed by a Local Board made up of various organizations such as Community Action, Board of Supervisors, Salvation Army, Church Charities and a homeless shelter advocate. Public or private voluntary agencies that would like to apply for the funds should call Red Rock Community Action at 842-6571. The deadline for applications is May 7th at 4pm.
