Memorial Day Celebrations in Knoxville Monday

Monday we celebrate Memorial Day, a day to commemorate the men and women who have lost their lives in the United States Military. A Laying of the Wreath ceremony will take place in Knoxville Monday morning and will include a prayer, gun salute and speeches from the American Veterans and Mayor Don Zoutte. The ceremony will take place at 9:00 Monday Morning at the Marion County Veterans Memorial on the square in Knoxville and is open to the public. In addition, the Avenue of Flags at the Graceland Cemetery will be in place until Tuesday afternoon.

The American Legion will visit area cemeteries at the following times Monday:
Liberty – 9:15am
Carlisle – 9:30am
Zion – 9:45am
Gullion – 10:00am
Indiana – 10:15am
Marysville – 10:30am
Hamilton – 10:45am
Bussey – 11:00am
