The Pella Christian girls’ soccer team recorded a 1-0 shutout win at home over Winterset last night.

Bri Warden scored the game’s only goal at 12:03 of the first half. Bekah Posthuma assisted on the goal. Goalkeeper Abbey DeBruin only had to make 7 saves in recording her fourth shutout of the season. Shelby Sytsma tallied 32 defensive stops and Lexi Warden recorded 20 defensive stops to keep the Winterset team away from the Eagle goal.

Coach Bill Collman was pleased with his team’s effort and says they are improving at the right time of the season with the Regional tournament starting in a week.

The Eagles are now 5-10 for the season and will end its regular season schedule on Tuesday at Norwalk , then host Oskaloosa in first round region play on Thursday.
