In a clash of the top teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference, it would be Norwalk that caught the break they needed, as the Warriors defeated the Pella boys soccer team 1-0 last night in Pella. Both teams played solid, hard-fought soccer in the first half, going into the intermission tied 0-0.

The intensity between the both teams turned up in the second half, culminating with an excellent shot by the Warriors with 20 minutes remaining that just got past the outstretched arms of Pella’s keeper. Norwalk was able to maintain its defensive intensity for the duration of the contest to hold on for the one score victory.

The loss was the first in conference play for the Pella boys, who are 4-1 in the league and 6-4 overall. The Little Dutch return to the pitch tonight for a make-up contest at Grinnell.
