Pella Christian Girls Golf Continues to Climb Toward Goal of 200

The Pella Christian girls golf squad continues to show steady improvements this season.
The Eagles are coming off a triangular win over Pella and Lynnville Sully in which they shot their best team score of the season at 206. Early in the season Coach Larry Hessing set a goal of breaking 200 as a team, and although they haven’t quite got there yet, Hessing likes their progress. Abbey Van Beek, and Paige Zylstra each shot a 50 in that triangular, and Hessing notes Meredith Fopma and Trisha Stump have each shot 50 or under this season. He says that makes that goal of shooting under 200 as a team very attainable, but they all have to do it on the same day.
The Eagles will have one final tune up before their District meet when they host Newton who just won the LHC tournament and Knoxville in a triangular on Tuesday at the Pella Golf and Country Club. They then head to the District meet in Albia a week from Monday.
