Already preparing for the Region 2 Semifinals in the Class 1-A team tournament, the Pella girls tennis team will begin the pursuit to qualify singles and doubles players for the state tennis meet this morning. Pella is the host site for Region 8, which includes familiar rivals Pella Christian, Knoxville and Grinnell; as well as squads from Chariton, Albia and Maharishi, among others. The top two doubles teams and top to singles players each advance to the State Tournament on June 3rd. The Class 1-A, Region 8 singles and doubles tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. this morning at Caldwell Park in Pella.
