With 11 events headed to the State Track and Field Meet starting tomorrow, the Pella girls have high hopes of a top five team finish in Class 3A.

The Lady Dutch Sprint Medley Relay team won the District meet to qualify, and Coach Dak Rasmussen says that team continues to get better every time they run. He says Lauren Manecke runs the leadoff leg and always gets them off to a great start, Morgan Hiemstra runs the second leg handing off to sophomore Katie Sunderman , and running the anchor leg is Nadine Van Zomeren who Rasmussen says has become a great finisher for them. The Sprint Medley will run Saturday at 9am.

He also says the 4×800 relay should be very competitive. Victoria Kleven runs the leadoff leg and ran a season best time at the District meet, Hannah Schwab runs the second leg, Sarah Wittenberg runs the third leg and also ran a season best time last week in teh District met and Madeline Meyer is the anchor leg. He says as a team they ran a season best to qualify for state. The 4×800 runs at 4:50pm tomorrow.

Another strong relay for Pella will be the 4×400 who Rasmussen says could finish in the top three. They run Friday night at 7pm. That team set a new school record and finished seventh at the Drake Relays in May.
