The Pella boys tennis team opens their post season today playing in a Class 1A District meet at Pella Christian. Each team will enter two singles players and two doubles teams. Pella coach Joe Burch says they’ve seen most of the teams through the season and he’s confident they can compete well today.

The top two overall finishers in both singles and doubles competition will advance to the individual State Tennis Tournament May 28th and 29th in Waterloo The top overall team earns a berth in Team Substate May 22nd while the second and third place teams will have to play each other in a Pre-Substate match this Saturday. Other teams competing today include Knoxville, Pella Christian, LHC Champions Grinnell, Albia, Oskaloosa and South Tama. Play starts at 9am today at Pella Christian High School.
