The event that many people view as the official start to Tulip Time, the Klompen Classic, will be run Wednesday night in Pella. The 16th annual event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Crossroads of Pella, which anticipates upwards of 1,800 runners and walkers to trek the 3.1 mile route through Pella. Race day registration and packet pickup will be held from 4:30-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, with the race starting at 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Washington and ending in front of the Tulip Toren downtown.
