Once the polls close this evening, the tabulation work begins. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says there are several steps that need to be taken before election results can be provided. Each polling site records the results of the votes cast at their location and saves them to memory cards. Grandia says that information is then brought to the Auditor’s office by members of the conservation department and local law enforcement where they are tabulated by officials and added to totals from the other precincts as soon as possible. Grandia says a screen will be up on the first floor of the courthouse and residents are invited to come see the results as they come in.

KNIA/KRLS news will also be providing live election coverage on AM 1320 KNIA and FM 92.1 KRLS as soon as they become available.
