Republican gubernatorial candidate Terry Branstad, and his pick for lieutenant governor Kim Reynolds, will be making a campaign stop in Marion County next week. Former Governor Branstad will be in Knoxville Thursday July 8th to meet with interested citizens and discuss economic issues in the state of Iowa, that’s according to National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum Executive Director Bob Baker. Branstad served as Iowa governor from 1983 to 1999 and is running against current Democratic Governor Chet Culver in an attempt to win back the office this November. The event will take place at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum at 2:30pm July 8th and is open to the public.
