A look down West 3rd Street from the intersection of Peace Street in PellaConcern over pedestrian safety while using crosswalks throughout Pella was addressed at the recent Pella City Council meeting. Mayor Darrell Dobernecker informed the council that he had received multiple complaints of vehicles that were not yielding to pedestrians that were attempting to cross the street. Pella Police Chief Michael Marcinkowski says his department is going to be closely monitoring crosswalks throughout the community and issuing citations to drivers that do not yield to pedestrians attempting to cross the street.
