Pleasantville broke open a close game in the fifth inning and Konner Gordon brought her A-game to the circle as the Trojanns beat Central Decatur last night 7-2. Pleasantville jumped on top 3-0 in the first when Cami DeForest led off the game with a slap bunt single to center field, Haley Hortsman got on with a fielder’s choice, Kaitlyn Friday singled to load the bases and Liz Hoyt was walked to get the first run on the board. Tassi Cook also drew a easy R-B-I with a walk and it was 3-0.

The Cardinals would close the gap with two runs in the second but Pleasantville would take advantage of three Central Decatur errors and plate four runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Gordon as mentioned was on from the get-go as she went the distance allowing the two runs to cross on just two hits, no walks, and struck out eight. Pleasantville moves to 3-5 on the season.
