The Iowa Department of Transportation closed HWY 5 south of Knoxville at English Creek at approximately 3:15PM Saturday because of water over the roadway, and reopened it during the overnight hours. The Marion county Engineers Office reports that gravel roads that go over English Creek were also flooded, and will be closed until sometime Monday. All other closed roads in the county will also will remain closed through Monday, even if the water recedes as they must be inspected for safety.
