The City of Knoxville will be cleaning and televising their sewer system over the next few years. The City Council recently approved a resolution forming a contract and notifying bidders of the project that is once every 10 years. The estimated cost of cleaning and televising Knoxville’s 49 miles of sewer is $305,000. City Manager Dick Schrad says the city sets money aside for this purpose on an annual basis and currently has $282,000 in that fund. The remaining $23,000 will be made up by increasing contributions to the fund over the next 10 years. The cleaning and televising is expected to take approximately 2 years to complete.
