Pella native and Utah Jazz guard Kyle Korver is making a return visit to his hometown Tuesday. Korver is making the visit to support 11-year-old Kobe Diers of Pella, who organized a fundraiser to buy basketball hoops for an orphanage in Sierra Leone. Kobe got the idea with some help from his mother, who had been on a mission trip to the orphanage. By gathering small pledges for every three-point basket he made in the month of April, Diers passed his goal of raising $1,000, and collected $1,800 – enough money to buy two new units.

Korver is supporting Diers’s cause by selling t-shirts from his “SEER” clothing line, with proceeds to go toward more basketball hoops for the orphanage. Kyle’s brother, Klayton, who handles the day-to-day operations of the Kyle Korver Foundation will be at the Sports Page Sporting Goods store for much of the day Tuesday, with Kyle making an appearance Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
